Concrete Nouns vs Abstract Nouns
Overview
We classify nouns into abstract nouns or concrete nouns when we look at nouns as names of whatever nouns we can see/touch or cannot see/touch.
Concrete Nouns
Definition: Concrete nouns are nouns that we can see or touch.
Example:
People, lake, building, table, chair, pencil, Mary, Tola, statues, phone, computer, dogs, cat, bag, car, …
Abstract Nouns
Definition: Abstract nouns are nouns that we cannot see or touch.
Example:
darkness, strength, weakness, brightness, honesty, courage, theft, movement, assumption, judgment, hatred, robbery, tourism, childhood, boyhood, youth, slavery, sickness, death, poverty, planning, writing, …
